P5 enjoyed their visit from the ‘Wee Critters’ this morning. They got to see, touch and hold lots of different rainforest animals and learnt lots of interesting facts about them. Allan from Wee Critters was very impressed with their knowledge of the rainforest and animals in it...

Well done Lauren who was our maths challenge winner for March! This month's challenge involved using different clues to eliminate numbers from a 100 square to find which one was left! 

In P3 we have observed the changes in the weather. We then painted and wrote all about Spring. 

In P3 we have been working very hard on mastering digital time. We worked in pairs to create time challenges! 

P4 wrote beautiful Spring poems! 

Well done to Ellen. Ellen worked really fast to solve the number card challenge. 

Another really fun morning as part of our biodiversity programme. Aidan and Debbie showed us some different birds from around our school garden - a goldcrest, a chaffinch and a bluetit. They showed us how to ring the birds so they can be tracked around the world. We loved seeing them up close.

Aidan and Debbie came to Oakwood today to deliver session 3 of our Biodiversity programme. Today we were looking at birds and how they are tracked. We got to meet lots of gorgeous little birds. 

Last week P4 were learning all about St. Patrick's life in Ireland. We also looked at Celtic Art and the Book of Kells. P4 had a go at making some of their own Celtic designs. 

For week 2 of our biodiversity programme, Debbie brought in a hedgehog, owl and fox for us to meet. 🦔 🦉 🦊 

P4 had some furry wildlife friends visiting today. Thanks to NCDT for our fun Biodiversity session today! We loved meeting Holly the hedgehog, Joe the people and Lilly the fox! 

We had a wonderful time playing shop while learning about all the coins in P1. We took turns to play the role of the shopkeeper and the customer. It was a very fun maths lesson! 

We have lots of fun in P1 using our colourful numicon to learn about building numbers. We love numicon and it make maths accessible and easier to us to visualise the numbers. 

We are working on the topic of castles this week in P1. We prepared a banquet and role played all the different characters from the castle such as the king, queen, prince and we even had a jester. Well done P1

P4's visions and hopes for 2022
