P5 enjoyed their visit from the ‘Wee Critters’ this morning. They got to see, touch and hold lots of different rainforest animals and learnt lots of interesting facts about them. Allan from Wee Critters was very impressed with their knowledge of the rainforest and animals in it...

Well done Lauren who was our maths challenge winner for March! This month's challenge involved using different clues to eliminate numbers from a 100 square to find which one was left! 

P5 enjoyed a visit from the NI Fire Service today. They learnt a lot about fire safety and what to do in a fire. We then went out to see the fire engine and even got to have a go using the hose! 🚒

P5 enjoyed a fantastic free pottery workshop through the Arts Council of Northern Ireland 🎨

We learnt about the first form of pot making, but gave it a modern twist by using rolling pins and tools to create the shape and make imprints and patterns.

Everyone had lots of fun...

P5 completed their monthly maths challenge this week.

It involved an Arithmogon triangle and our addition and subtraction skills!

Everyone did a fantastic job and our winner this month was Finn! Well done 🥳

P5 have been learning about exciting adjectives and finding synonyms from the thesaurus, so we went out hunting for objects to match them!

P5 all received their swimming badges this week. They have done a really fantastic job each week, giving everything a go and trying their very best. We are all very proud of them and these badges are very well deserved! Well done P5! 🏊‍♀️🏅

P5 enjoyed making their own scratch paper. We designed our colourful backgrounds yesterday, painted them and left them overnight to dry. Today we were able to scratch away different shapes and designs. 

They did a fantastic job and the finished pieces look excellent! 🤩🎨🌟

P5 have been learning all about WW2 in their WAU topic.

We had a virtual visit from the Northern Ireland War Memorial Museum who showed us lots of amazing objects and told us lots of new facts too!

It was a tricky one using a Newton's cross, where the numbers on each line had to add up to 15.
