From tomorrow, the children here at Oakwood are going to be participating in The Daily Mile. Each class at a time of the teacher's choosing will complete 10 laps of the playground, which equals a miles.

As a Healthy school, we hope that this initiative will help keep our children fit...

We are learning all about our bodies in P4. We enjoyed going outside to look at the different ways that our body moves. We then painted it! 

P.1 are learning all about the number 4 this week in their Numeracy lessons. They are working hard at counting to 4, making sets of 4 and how to write 4.

P.1 had a lot of fun taking their learning ouside today in the gorgeous Autumn weather.

Thankfully we were blessed today with gorgeous Autumnal weather, so we had the chance to have Outdoor Play. We were working on Autumn pictures, practsing writing the number 3, making music to Nursery rhymes and lots of other fun learning tasks.

We had a brilliant time in Primary 2 celebrating European Languages Day. We learnt Irish and Scottish Gaelic words, music and even a little Céilí dancing!

We all shared other languages that we hear at home and learnt how to say hello in many languages.

Today P.1 met their new P.7 buddies. We all had a great day palying with them and can't wait to see then again soon.

P.1 have been very busy this week. They have been learning all about the letter 'a'. P.1 have been learning the sound of the letter 'a', the letter 'a' action and how to write the letter.

We are reaching for the stars in p3.  We set ourselves goals for P3 and what we wanted to achieve.  We took amazing photos of our class reaching up to the starts to achieve our best in P3.

We worked as a team to come up with our class rules.  We took photographs of us acting out the rules to help us to remember them.  Here is Jamie, Anna and Jude showing us the rule about working together!

We have been working hard learning about our senses and in our number work we have been learning alot about careful measuring.  We rolled some play doh snakes to measure using our rulers and we learnt all about cm.  We also drew around parts of our body to measure.

In P2 we took a break from all of the hard work in order to have a lovely breakfast with our good friend Goldilocks.

Luckily, the children brought their own breakfasts to school so there was no need to 'borrow' any from the bears!

P6 have been looking at Synonyms and Antonyms in Literacy this week.  We created this display to show case our learning.
